The UK Guitar Show has new home this February!

The Guitar Show Moves Venue For 2023

Organisers of The Guitar Show – the UK’s largest guitar event – have announced a move to a new venue for 2023.

The relocation follows a significant fire at The Guitar Show’s long-standing home, New Bingley Hall in Birmingham in mid-September. The scale of the fire, which was tackled by more than 100 firefighters, sadly resulted in the complete destruction of the venue.

To be held on the originally-planned dates for 2023 – 25-26th February – The Guitar Show moves to Cranmore Park in Shirley, West Mids, which recently played host to the successful BPM DJ show. The new venue allows the familiar layout of The Guitar Show to remain similar to previous years, with the benefit of the Acoustic Hall now also being located on the ground floor.
In addition to the usual extensive exhibition area, the show’s Live Stage (which has seen the likes of Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Bernie Marsden and Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper) grace its boards over the years) will feature some amazing talent over the weekend.
Easily accessible from the M42 (approximately two miles from Junction 4), Cranmore Park also offers more than 550 car parking spaces on-site.
Show organiser Jason Hunt said, “I have run events at The New Bingley Hall for over a decade and my heart goes out to the team there. I paid a visit to survey the damage and the team were broken by it. Whilst it might be something of an inconvenience for The Guitar Show, this is their livelihood.
They have so far cancelled over 50 events and have no re-opening date whilst they await the surveyors report. As such we’ve had to make the decision to relocate, to ensure that visitors can still enjoy the UK’s best guitar get-together next year. I’m really pleased to be able to move to Cranmore Park, which offers great facilities and easy parking and allows us to remain in the heart of the country. With an exciting array of exhibitors already confirmed for 2023, I’m confident it will be a great show.”

FALLEN SANCTUARY (feat. members of Serenity & Temperance), Release Vinyl Bonus Track, "The Giant", Of Debut Album Terranova

June 24, 2022 saw rising melodic power metal act FALLEN SANCTUARY, the band project featuring Georg Neuhauser (Serenity) and Temperance guitarist Marco Pastorino, release their first full-length album Terranova with AFM Records.

For the first time ever, the band has just released their epic Vinyl bonus track "The Giant", on digital platforms. Says Marco: "2022 was great, our first album Terranova received a fantastic feedback everywhere , especially from the fans of melodic metal. That's the reason why we decided to share with you other tracks taken from the studio session. The first one is called The Giant; some of you already heard this song as bonus track on the limited vinyl edition of Terranova. It's a bombastic metal track with our classical trademarks, great melodies and big choirs!"

Neuhauser and Pastorino became friends in 2018 during a joint tour and realised that they pretty much share musical idols and tastes. Soon they joined forces and FALLEN SANCTUARY was born, that also features permanent drummer Alfonso Mocerino and bassist Gabriele Gozzi, who complements the band live on stage.

Their much acclaimed debut, Terranova, was produced by Neuhauser / Pastorino, and was recorded at the Groove Factory Udine, Italy and Rec.-It Telfs in Austria, and was mixed and mastered by Jan Vacik at the Dreamsound Studios in Munich, Germany.

Available through AFM Records, you can pre-order your album copy at THIS LOCATION!

Swedish Power Metal Masters BLOODBOUND Announce New Album, ‘Tales From The North’

+ Live Dates Over Europe

When it comes to defending the core values of timeless power metal and combining them with fresh stylistic variations and exciting stories, Swedish power metallers Bloodbound have always been fighting at the forefront. With nine studio albums in 16 years under their belt, the six-piece has proven their versatility and inventiveness countless times. Following the much acclaimed, latest record Creatures Of The Dark Realm (2021, AFM Records), Bloodbound have announced the release of their upcoming masterpiece, entitled Tales From The North!

“’Tales From The North’ is very much a concept album about the viking era. About the lives of our ancestors up here in the dark, cold and unfriendly environments of the north,” explains lead guitarist Tomas Olsson and summarizes the content of their eleven songs: “Different legends and myths intertwine during the course of the songs, leading up to the epic battle of 1066, which marks the end of the viking era.”

Those who already know the sound of Bloodbound can imagine the metallic force the band employs to evoke this story. Tales From The North will be released on July 7, 2023 via AFM/Soulfood as a 2-CD digipak including a live CD. As a special treat, it will also be released as a strictly limited box set as well as coloured vinyl LPs.

Today, the band shared a lyric video for their first album single "Odin’s Prayer".
“Odin's Prayer is a real banger of a song,“ Fredrik Bergh comments. “It represents the new album well and I think it's a great first taste of the new record. On Tales From The North we have gone back to the roots of bloodbound a bit and I think the bloodheads will like what they hear!“

Bloodbound have not only improved in terms of content, but also musically. Says Olsson: “The songs are more fast-paced and closer to some of our earlier stuff like ’Moria’ and ’Nosferatu’, but have more complex arrangements. Compared to the predecessor 'Creatures Of The Dark Realm‘ there are heavier guitars and some deeper sounding keyboards. We have also incorporated some traditional Nordic folk music instruments to fit the concept of the album. It`s still pure power metal but we’re trying to take it to the next level.”

Tales From The North was produced by Bloodbound, and was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (Amorphis, Overkill, Sabaton) at the Swedish ‘Black Lounge Studios’. The cover artwork was done by Péter Sallai (Hammerfall, Powerwolf & many more).

Rockshots Records - Out Now! Tolkien Inspired Power Metallers RuinThrone New Album “The Unconscious Mind Of Arda”

Out Now! Italian fantasy power metallers RuinThrone release their J.R.R. Tolkien-inspired sophomore album “The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” via Rockshots Records.

“The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” is the follow-up to their 2013 debut album “Urban Ubris”. “The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” is composed of storied songs inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s poem, “Legendarium”. The band hopes the concepts they wrote can be “messengers” of reflection for their listeners, turning in a better awareness of their daily life.

"We all think that this album will be interesting for all power metal lovers but it will also give a new way of telling about fantasy in the music field. Everyone who enjoys Tolkien will find intimacy in a wide and complex world, narrated and put into music with strong attention to every detail, while trying to inspire feelings and moods that always have fascinated us.

We focused on an alternative point of view of some stories written by Tolkien. We thought it would have been interesting to explore the mind of the main villains: Morgoth, the Witch-king, and Gothmog. The main concept is to develop a poem with no need for heroes. It’s a world populated by humanized characters creating a correspondence with the listener’s life." adds the band.

“The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” is mixed and mastered by Giuseppe Orlando (sound tech for Rhapsody of Fire) at the Outer Sound Studios.

The album is now available as of January 13th, 2023 at the following links

Incoming! Obituary

Death metal legends OBITUARY release new single 'My Will To Live' and lyric video

Dying of Everything album out 13th January via Relapse

EU tour & London headline show announced on 23rd February at Electric Ballroom
"Obituary have pioneered, defined and expanded extreme metal, becoming one of the underground’s most recognized and respected acts." - Decibel Magazine

Legendary Florida death metal icons OBITUARY return with their highly anticipated new album, Dying of Everything, out 13th January via Relapse Records. Today the band share a lyric video for their new single 'My Will To Live'.

Watch the lyric video for 'My Time To Live' here: https://youtu.be/nlkE2X79HVg

OBITUARY comment: "The time is ALMOST here and we could not be more excited to FINALLY get the new album in the hands of the fans! It’s been a long time coming and we know that you guys have been patiently waiting for this release so we are proud to give one more treat with this next single. 'My Will to Live' was one of the last songs we wrote for this album and it is the one we chose for the lyric video as it’s a classic OBITUARY style song with plenty of groove and a vicious vocal performance by JT and a damn good representation of Dying of Everything as a whole. Hopefully it will wet your taste buds and prepare your ear canal for what you can expect from these Florida boys and the new record! ..Enjoy and here we go!!!!!!"

Physical Dying of Everything pre-orders are available here: https://store.relapse.com/obituary-dying-of-everything

OBITUARY return to Europe in January/February 2023 with Trivium & Heaven Shall Burn and conclude their European run with a one-off headline show in London at Electric Ballroom on 23rd February.

Dying Of Everything destroys in the time-honoured tradition of early OBITUARY classics Slowly We Rot and Cause of Death while maintaining the killer studio sound that the band has been perfecting in their own studio since 2007’s monstrous Xecutioner’s Return.

Like just about every album in OBITUARY’s vast catalogue, Dying Of Everything is instantly memorable; it’s a skill that OBITUARY have only improved upon over the years. It’s unusual for a band that’s been around since the ’80s to be doing some of their best work in the 2020s, but that’s exactly what OBITUARY have accomplished through their do-it-yourself attitude and relentless touring on a worldwide level. “I think it comes down to passion,” vocalist John Tardy offers. “I say this all the time, but if something’s not fun, I’m not gonna do it. And we’re having more fun than ever.”

OBITUARY are:
John Tardy - Vocals
Donald Tardy - Drums
