When Rivers Meet, comprised of husband and wife, Aaron, and Grace Bond, have announced three Planet Rock “Rocktober” shows with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and King King at Bristol O2 Academy (Oct 15), London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (Oct 18), and Sheffield O2 Academy (Oct 22).

WRM will also perform six headline concerts at Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach (Oct 13), Gloucester Guildhall (Oct 16), Huddersfield Parish (Oct 21), York Crescent (Oct 23), Liverpool Arts (Oct 29), and Milton Keynes Stables (Oct 30).

The tour announcement dovetails the February 25th release of He’ll Drive You Crazy – the band’s third single taken from their critically acclaimed sophomore album Saving Grace. 

In 2021, When Rivers Meet were the first band to win four UK Blues Awards including Blues Band of the Year, Blues Album of the Year, Emerging Blues Artist of the Year, and Most Inspirational Online Performance of the Year. WRM were also won Best New Band at Planet Rock’s awards The Rocks.

This year the band are nominated for three awards at the UK Blues Awards including Blues Album of the Year (Saving Grace), Blues Band of the Year, and Blues Vocalist of the Year (Grace Bond).  

Saving Grace follows WRM’s critically acclaimed debut album We Fly Free that was released in November 2020, and their previous two EPs, The Uprising, and Innocence of Youth. The past two years have been a non-stop thrill-ride for WRM, who are comprised of Grace Bond (lead vocals, mandolin, violin) and Aaron Bond (guitar, vocals).

On their highly anticipated sophomore album Saving Grace, WRM have set out to produce a blues rock album with a more upbeat, punchy, and exciting sound.  The album is available from www.whenriversmeet.co.uk.

“We were very conscious that our debut album We Fly Free was a step up in production from our two EP releases previously The Uprising EP and Innocence of Youth,” says Grace. “We also wanted to keep a live, authentic vibe to the new album to retain the energetic feel in the music.”

Says Aaron, “We wanted the album to have more of an upbeat rock feel. We knew exactly what we wanted before we set off to record Saving Grace. We set our expectations high. We’re so pleased with the result and just hope everyone else loves it as much as we do!”  

As with their debut album, We Fly Free, a lot of care and attention given to the detail, not only went into the song writing, but also went into the production on each track, and telling a story from start to finish.

“Although we wanted to do something different from our previous work, we still wanted all the same elements that make our music distinctive and recognisable as When Rivers Meet,” says Grace.

After the success of their debut album, We Fly Free, how does the sophomore album Saving Grace differ?

“Saving Grace sophomore has a more upbeat rock feeling than We Fly Free,” says Aaron. “We were very conscious when we started to record this album that’s the direction that we wanted to move in, and it was exactly the kind of result that wanted to achieve.”

Continues Aaron, “As well as being inspired by classic blues including John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters, we also draw a lot of influence from classic rock bands that include Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Cream, and Free. To emulate some of the feel or tone of these legendary blues pioneers and seminal rock bands is something that we strive to do, and hopefully people will hear that in our music and relate to it.”

When Rivers Meet’s passion for blues rock shows through with an underpinning of traditional blues and classic rock. The duo makes a concerted effort to keep to a genuine, gritty sound using authentic techniques, including tube tape echo and reverb chambers, which have created a live sound that keeps a truly vintage vibe that not only has energy but is also a true representation of the ever-evolving sound this duo produces.

The drummer Keko Magrini and the guitarist Kiko De Santis were called up in 2019 to complete the lineup and proceed with the original songs and their arrangements. The band name was borrowed from the Corrosion of Conformity song “Mano De Mono” as well as the short horror story “Monkey’s Paw” ( AKA “La pata de mono”) by William Wymark Jacobs. Sonically, Mano De Mono conveys the fuzziness of the late ‘90s Palm Desert Scene, the aggression of NOLA, the expressiveness of Seattle’s first wave, and a punk spirit with vibrancy, melody, and harmony.  After the “Sons of Barabba” live session video release in Feb 2021, the Sardinian quartet soon started producing their debut studio album, Chameleon Tongue. Slathered in stoner, grunge, and ‘90s alternative rock/metal, the record is a collection of infectious rancid numbers with no shortage of yell-along choruses. IKncoming Children of the Sun

 Swedish retro rock band Children of the Sün will release their sophomore studio album "Roots” during the spring of 2022. The six member group’s second full length is the natural progression of their praised debut album ”Flowers” from 2019. While the sound is refined and structurally more direct, the Woodstock loving hippie-spirit of the band shines on the 13 new tracks of the album. With a retro sound and soulful, multi layered vocal harmonies, ”Roots" reflects a journey through life towards finding oneself, with songs about ups and downs, love and hate, light and darkness.

”Roots” was recorded in Church Bay Records in Arvika, Sweden. It was mixed by the band´s guitarist and mastered by Hans Olsson at Svenska Grammofon Studion (Graveyard, Soundtrack of our lives, The Hives). The album cover was illustrated by Revolver Design, who has previously provided artwork for bands as Alter Bridge, Louise Lemón and Nephila.
 
”Roots” is released on CD, Vinyl and digital formats on the 18th of March, 2022. The album is released on The Sign Records. 

Inspired by Janis Joplin, Rival Sons, and the free lovin’ spirit of 1969’s legendary Woodstock Festival, Children of the Sün embody both the carefree and reflective sides of classic rock music. Following their 2018 success in the Swedish music competition Livekarusellen, the band released a self-titled EP and later came under the wing of The Sign Records, joining acts such as Hällas, MaidaVale, Skraeckoedlan, and The Hawkins. In 2019 the band released their first full-length album Flowers which was received with great love from the audience and the vinyl sold out just a few months after the release.
 
The song “Her Game” from their debut-album got chosen by the Swedish nationwide newspaper Aftonbladet on their list of best rock songs of 2019. 
 
Since then the band have played on festivals and stages around Sweden including Arvika
Hamnfest, Festival Of The Midnight Sun, Putte i Parken, The Sign fest and hosted their own show in a barn out in the woods together with drummer Björn Fryklund (Freak Kitchen) Earlier this year they supported Trummor & Orgel on their tour.  
Today Children of the Sün looks forward to releasing their next album Roots via The Sign Records on March 18th, 2022.

Jon is probably most recognized nationally and internationally as the theremin player for Relapse Records recording artists Inter Arma. His multi instrumental skills landed him in a working relationship with the Richmond, VA band and has appeared on their albums The Cavern and Paradise Gallows. Jon has also played noteworthy festivals with them such as Adult Swim Fest, Psycho Fest, Maryland Death Fest, and Roadburn Festival, as well as a 2018 European tour as direct support for the band Deafheaven. Jon has spent most of his local Milwaukee career as a lead guitarist for previous metal bands such as Shroud Of Despondency, Face Of Ruin, Ara, and Toby Wong. As the primary composer and ringleader of the band, Jon combines his college music degree skills along with his veteran experience as a performing musician as well as his passion for music to create the sounds of LOST TRIBES OF THE MOON. Jeremiah Messner plays drums in LTOTM and is the second longest tenured member in the band. Raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Jeremiah is a veteran of the Milwaukee underground music scene and has played with a who's who of black metal bands including Cold Beyond, Shroud Of Despondency (where him and Jon Liedtke met) and Owl's Cry. He also has his own experimental noise projects Hallow Hecatomb and Temper. As a performing drummer for over 20 years and well versed in the aforementioned influential genres for this band, his drumming style is the perfect complement to the feel for each of their songs. Julie Brandenburg is the newest vocalist for LTOTM. She joined in late 2019 and brings along her sophisticated voice and vast musical experience to the band. She is a vocalist, pianist, songwriter, and composer and has performed and recorded in the Midwest for years. Her voice has been described as “soaring” by Billboard Magazine. Julie and Jon first met while he attended the music program at M.A.T.C. college in Milwaukee, where Julie was a voice, piano, and choir teacher. She also has a solo career of her own, with a new album due later this year. Julie seeks to engage people with her music: “Artists have the responsibility of interpreting the feelings and circumstances of our unique time together on this planet, and offering connection and inspiration to listeners." Chris Ortiz rages the bass for LTOTM. Joining in 2020 to take on the massive duties of providing bass parts for the newest album, Chris has since settled into the Tribes and now resides with them as their newest member. He is a heavily seasoned veteran of the Milwaukee music scene for 30 years, and has provided bass (and vocals) for a very long list of bands including Speedfreaks, Volcanoes, El Gordo, Xolotl, and Motivo Loco. He fronts his own band Magnetic Minds as bassist and lead vocalist and plays a bitchin' Geezer Butler in a Black Sabbath cover band called Hand of Doom! Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lost Tribes Of The Moon doesn't try to be defined by one or two genres, rather using "metal" as its main vehicle of sound, but citing influences ranging from Doom Metal, 70's hard rock, Prog Rock,, Black Metal, NWOBHM, folk, and ambient/experimental to make up a reference for what the listener has in store for their ears. The band focuses on dynamics within their musicianship and proper use of inspiration to deliver a sound that doesn't sit neatly into any single description or genre. Lost Tribes Of The Moon takes their name from a reference to Clive Barker's Nightbreed movie and graphic novel and uses that type of dark story telling fictional (or not so) universe combined with lyrics based on stories of mythical figures and old tales to influence the vibe of this band. They released their self-titled debut album in 2018 to a well received audience and celebrated reviews by music critics. 2019 and 2020 saw the additions of Julie Brandenburg on vocals and Chris Ortiz on bass to make up the lineup that recorded their sophomore album, Chapter II: Tales Of Strife, Destiny, And Despair. Lost Tribes Of The Moon have been performing as a live band since September of 2017, and in that time have been a support act for such bands as Trouble, Today Is The Day, Black Tusk, Immortal Bird, Vanishing Kids, Doomstress, Dreadnought, Ails, Owl, Savage Master, and Vile Creature. The band's goals for the remainder of 2022 is to promote their much anticipated sophomore album and venture out to further regions beyond their hometown and the Midwest to share their music and live sound with more and more audiences. Having leaned in the direction of post-metal on 2019’s Seeds Of Change, SYBERIA have enthusiastically embraced the genre on fourth album Statement On Death. Transcending their origins as an instrumental rock band, they show many more sides to their songwriting without losing their unique signature sound. Comprised of five riveting tracks spread across 42 minutes, it covers a lot of musical ground, but never once do they lose the attention of the listener, taking them through numerous textured sonic peaks and valleys in beautiful style. “On each album we try not to repeat ourselves and look for things that we haven’t done so far,” states the band.   “When we start songwriting, we never do it following a specific plan. We always compose according to what we have heard at that time, normally we record riff ideas individually and take them to the rehearsal room. Formed in Oxford in 2014, by TJ Higgs and Jon Arnold, who met whilst working on a different

musical project with mutual friends, which ultimately led to the creation of Promethean Reign.

Soon after completing a short session of demos using a drum machine, they recruited drummer

Joe Andrews (formally of the Oxford death metal band Fragment).

The band released their first self-funded EP in 2017, titled 'Aftó Eínai Pólemos' (translated as

'This Is War' from Greek)

Since then, they have taken part twice in the Bloodstock festival’s “Metal 2 The Masses”

competitions, reaching the final in 2019, but suffered technical problems during their set.

After this setback, the pandemic hit, throwing them into a dormant period, and they played their

first show back at Rabidfest 2021 at The Bullingdon, Oxford.

Since forming, a number of members have come and gone from the band,

on bass or guitar duties.

After their previous guitar player mainstay Ryan Collins departed in 2018, they played shows as

a three-piece in the search for the right person to join them.

At the end of 2021 Kai Boyce (formerly of Oxford metal band Confront The Carnage), joined on

guitar duties.

Their first new recording in five years, a single titled “Eat The Rich”, is due for release on 25th of

March 2022, on CD and digital streaming sites.

Eat The Rich is about the evils of capitalism, its effects on our planet, and its population.

It's a call to recognize the power that people have collectively, and how it's time to stand up for

the rights of the many, to fight for a better world for ourselves.

From the 60s to the 90s. A new year every Sunday to take you back in time!

Like many up and coming radio presenters I started my radio career in hospital radio within the 2 years of being at my local hospital radio I went on to be nominated at the national HBA (Hospital Broadcasting Association) awards, not once but twice! The first time was for Best New Comer and the second was for Best Male Presenter.

 

At the end of my time on Hospital Radio Lynn I moved to a new local online radio station called Fen Radio.  I snapped up the opportunity to be a part of a new upcoming local radio station and I started to present Tuesday night’s Heroes of The Zer00’s. 

 

Now with a fully functioning studio I could now broadcast Heroes of The Zer00’s from my home, which got me thinking on what else I could use the studio for and then one night I had an idea about doing syndicate radio shows and as you can see the rest is now history.

Ian Davies began broadcasting in hospital radio in his home town of Chesterfield during the mid 80s before moving on to FM and AM stations in the north of England.

A self-confessed 'radio nut', in recent times Ian has presented shows on several radio stations, including Secklow 105.5 (FM station in Milton Keynes) where he still presents shows, Leighton Buzz Radio, Cambrian Radio in Wales and 121 Radio.

Ian is passionate about music, particularly from the late sixties through to the mid nineties, though he freely admits he knows next to nothing about chart music in the 2000s. His favourite genre by far is rock, from the sixties through to the present day. He may not know much about current chart acts, but he's certainly right up to date with what's going on in rock music.

"I like the classic rock artists such as AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin and co, but there are also so many great new rock bands around. I've become a little obsessed by The Dust Coda, a four-piece band from London, for example. Every time I hear one of their songs I want more and I really enjoy tapping into new acts."

Ian presents The Rock Block, which he describes as "easy listening rock" if there can be such a thing. Classics from most rock genres, including soft-rock, prog, punk and glam, plus new music and a special category called "rock which may not even be rock." Everything is radio-friendly; there's no nail-your-head-to-the-floor thrash metal or similar. Just great music that fans of most genres will enjoy.
