Canada’s Ravenous will be unleashing their new album “Hubris” on October 22ndvia Feast Beast Records for North America plus Europe and for Asia via Spiritual Beast with exclusive bonus tracks “Cakaw Te Partiro” and “一瞬千撃” for the Japanese version.

Before the full-length officially drops, the band is hosting two CD release shows for Alberta fans in Edmonton and Calgary. The Edmonton event will be hosted on October 9th at The Starlite Room, which will include a live DVD recording in support of "Hubris" and for their hometown crowd in Calgary, they will be performing on October 15th at Dickens.

The band hints at what attendees can expect from their live show:

"First-time fans can expect our performance and costumes to be akin to going to a Queen show in their early pub days, but with fast-riffs, blast beats, and more crowd-singing than you can shake a claw at! Our fans have a tendency to make people feel welcome, like joining a giant IRL Discord server, so the fans all become friends over time and that community not only strengthens us as a band, but also boosts the rest of the industry, so first-timers will find they left the show with more friends than they came in with!"

Details for the CD release shows can be found on Ravenous' Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/RavenousE.H/events

Ravenous currently have two singles out
Astral Elixir and “Die 1000 Deaths” off “Hubris”, which can be heard at the following links:

They seek to inspire others to find that inner triumph and glory that drove them to form this project - whether that means starting their own band, or just finding the strength to make a change in their lives - they seek to empower their followers through every step of their journey.

Recommended for fans of Powerwolf, Sabaton, and Unleash the Archers, Ravenous is bringing you anthemic tunes from a time when metal was hungry.

The music of IMAGINATURE contains heavy guitar riffs and bombastic drum section, with keyboards, whistle & pipes in the style of symphonic/power/prog metal.

The name IMAGINATURE comes from mixing the words “imagination” and “nature”, which reffer to composing style of the band. Despite of the keyboardist, the rest of its members has no musical education, but creativeness and imagination are something more desireable for them. Coming up with such band name they combined two opposite things, yet each of them bares great power.

The band worked with guest appearances of musicians from such renowned bands as SunrisePathfinderThermitMoyra. You can hear them on upcoming debut album Imaginature, which is set to be released 02.10.2021.

Concert Review: Quireboys Robin 2 Bilston. 23/9/21

Quireboys always give ya a bit o' what ya fancy....

Quireboys, Robin2, Bilston, 23 September 21.

(Support voodoo Sioux, Conner Emms)

Live review by Faye Farmer for ROX Network.

I was extremely excited for this date to roll around and to finally get back into the Robin 2. I have genuinely lost count of the amount of times I have seen the Quireboys live, but just cannot, not buy that ticket. We walked into the venue to be hit by the wall of people. Silhouettes framing the stage, it was magical;
I have never been so okay with waiting in a que for the bar after the past empty months without live music.
The venue is prepared with an extended smoking area and neat new addition of a quaint outdoor bar.
Conner Emms had the privilege of getting the night started and he did just that - an extremely talented local musician. Swiftly followed by Voodoo Sioux who came on with an absolute bang of energy, welcomed by many local followers and proving their popularity is still consistent.

The main course was not disappointing; Spike fell on to the stage in that charming way we just all adore. “How ya all doing”, and with a wicked smile got the party started. First song hit and you could feel they were going to be on fire but do you never expect less? The lads have a sterling reputation and never fail to deliver.

The band just make it look so easy. They work together like a fully programmed, well-oiled machine; Guy Griffen’s captivating guitar work accompanied by sensational keyboard and rhythm offering the crowd a mix of high energy songs and ballads such as Sweet Mary Ann, I Don’t Love You Any More, Hey You, Whippin Boy and of course the much loved 7. O’Clock.

Between songs Spike egged on the ladies in the front row, showing off the rose he claimed he got from Bilston market and promising it to one of them. Spike has a great skill of making the crowd feel like they are out visiting him in his humble abode, with talks of the local pub (The Swan) closing and having an afternoon pint in The Market Tavern…. We, the crowd, don’t doubt he has more than likely been supping pints in the town that very afternoon.

Signature dance moves, banter and excellent crowd interaction with some added “yeeeehahs” kept the crowd going through from song to song linking the performance seamlessly. Seeing those beers in the air on spikes command was a sublime sight, that mystical charm rasping out songs that feel like old friends visiting us after years apart.

The lads left the crowd chanting and a little confused with a lengthy wait for the encore but it was certainly worth it, finishing the party with the 1989 classic and fan pleasing favourite Sex Party with the swagger and energy it had right from the start.

The night was full of great music, good beers flowing, dancing and singing, the only downfall was the bad head and aching limbs that inevitably follow a fantastic night!

ROX Interview: Lion's Share

A lion always gets his share!

ROX Network Interview with rock band Lion's Share.

For the rock un- initiated, Lion's Share is a Swedish heavy metal band that has so far released six albums and one EP worldwide.

The band have toured Europe with bands like Motörhead, Manowar, DIO, Saxon, Iced Earth, Nevermore, U.D.O., Dee Snider and have played many of the major festivals.

The LION'S SHARE album catalogue features appearances by current and former members of Megadeth, KISS, King Diamond, HammerFall, Symphony X, Yngwie Malmsteen, Candlemass etc.

The albums were mixed by top engineers such as Jens Bogren (Arch Enemy, Opeth, Symphony X, Kreator, Amon Amarth). Niklas Flyckt (one-time Grammy award winner and four-time nominee), Ronny Lahti (Roxette, Europe, Glenn Hughes, Electric Boys), Robert Wellerfors (The Rolling Stones, Joey Tempest, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Ace Of Base).

LION’S SHARE is firmly committed to following their hearts and not the current musical trends when it comes to their songwriting, an attitude and approach which the group themselves find much more personally fulfilling. It is the band's hope and belief that the sincerity and the passion which they pour into their music will ultimately help them find their audience and provide the quintet with the recognition that they deserve. (bio courtesy of Lion's Share).

They've just released hot new single "Baptized in Blood" (vid on YT) and they've also re-issued their rather excellent back catalogue independently on Bandcamp. We thought it was high time we chatted to the duo...

Introduce yourself to our readers guys. Who's in the band?

LION'S SHARE is a heavy metal band from Sweden. We have released six albums, plus lately several digital singles on Spotify, YouTube etc. We are planning a new album as soon as the pandemic settles down so we can tour in support of the new release.

In the past we have done tours with DIO, MOTÖRHEAD, SAXON, ICED EARTH, NEVERMORE, MANOWAR, DEE SNIDER, U.D.O. etc.

We are two full-time members - Nils Patrik Johansson on vocals and Lars Chriss on guitar. For tours and recordings we have used different musicians to supply us with what we need.

How would you describe your music to anyone who hasn't yet heard it (those in a cave perhaps!)?

We are heavily influenced by Ronnie James Dio-era BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, SAXON, OZZY, MEGADETH etc. Our music is riff based with catchy, powerful vocals on top. Even though we have a powerful and intense sound we always want some great melodies as well.

You formed Lion's Share in 1987. What bands were you in before then and since?

I'm one of the founders, so this has been my baby since the start and I have not been a full time member in any other bands. I'm a producer and mixer as well, so I've been hired to write for, and play on other people's records and therefore been in the lineup credits on many albums even though I was not a member per se. We have a web page where customers can contact me for mixing jobs etc at www.noterious.eu

What are your musical influences?

We are influenced by anything we like really, but mainly the classic hard rock and heavy metal bands from the 70s and 80s. Bands like BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, MEGADETH, SAXON, IRON MAIDEN, WHITESNAKE, METALLICA, ACCEPT, RAINBOW, DIO, DEEP PURPLE, QUEENSRYCHE, OZZY, KISS etc etc

You're previous release was released in 2017. What have you been up to

since then?

We just released a digital single "Baptized In Blood" on September 17, and another 2-3 singles earlier this year. In 2020 there was 2-3 singles released and the same thing 2019 and 2018. Most genres already abandoned physical releases and went 100% streaming and downloading. We realize this is where things are currently going so we make sure we don't miss the train, but we will also still be releasing CDs and vinyl since our fans still requests this. As soon as the pandemic allow us to tour we will have a new physical album out. But for now both we and our fans really enjoy have something new out every three or so months. It also help building our fan base to be peresent in the press and radio with new stuff compared to have a new album out ever 2-3 years. This is simply how things are working these days even though we of course would prefer the old way where bands actually did make some good money on records.

New song "Baptized In Blood" is rockin'! Where can folks get it? Will be on a new EP or album?

Thank you! It's out on all digital media platforms by our distributor The Orchard/ SONY. It's planned to be included on our next album. I'm currently remixing the recent singles for the album so it won't be the exact same stuff people already heard. We are also changing some stuff on some of them - like replacing the drums, change some guitar or vocal fills, adding a keyboard on some part etc.

How do you think your music has evolved since you formed?

We started in the 80s, so back then we were much more a melodic hard rock band with tons of keyboards etc. Then in the 90s we were very influenced by the progressive style and bands like DREAM THEATER, QUEENSRYCHE, RUSH still with my Tony Iommi influenced riffing however. Like the Tony Martin fronted BLACK SABBATH mixed with those prog bands maybe. When our keyboard player and my then co-writer Kay Backlund left, it went 100% in my riffing and songwriting direction and much more straight ahead heavy metal like we sound today. Nils Patrik Johansson joined LION'S SHARE in 2003 and has become the perfect songwriting partner for my style. We write and work extremely well together and have that amazing chemistry that only a lucky few will experience.

 Any live shows planned?

We had just done our first two headline shows in a very long time in Germany, March 2020, when the pandemic hit. More shows were booked and the band sounded great. The plan is to get back on the road in 2022, but we see no reason to make any big plans until we see where this pandemic is going. It's a lot of work putting a show together, so at this point we just wait and see what happens. We will keep on writing, recording and releasing new songs however.

What's next for Lion's Share? A new album?

I have three more songs to mix, but everything is recorded. We haven't approached any labels, but there's already interest from a handful that have contacted us, just based on the singles we've released I guess.

Any advice for any new band starting out?

Believe in yourself and keep chugging away. It's gonna be a lot of hard work for most to get anywhere. Try to own as much as possible yourself and be careful what kind of papers you sign.

ROX Review: Gamma Ray 30 Years Live

Here's Eddie's review of the new live album from Gamma Ray

https://youtu.be/Hi3JQXb_S5U

Fresh Blood! Korsunnuz

KMS Music, in association with Off The Record, are excited to announce the release of Korsunnuz debut E.P, Negative Earth, on the 15th of October 2021. Wielding disparate, even conflicting, influences from stoner and alternative rock, the six tracks are a musical journey from the Palm Springs desert scene, via Seattle, to the heart of their native UK.

While at times happily playing out a fascination for Americana and Vintage cars, there are also hints of the post-apocalyptic. Forged in fire, sharp as Sheffield steel, they’ve aimed, from conception, to produce an honest collection of material that captures the bands live energy.

Recorded at Kettering’s Parlour studios, engineered by Neil Haynes, the sound of Korsunnuz is Vintage, but never self-indulgent. Neils previous experience, with rock and metal acts, is evident throughout, with the songs sounding raw, but with a clarity about them.

Neatly capturing the vibe is Vlad McNealy’s artwork. The hot desert nights, and dusty back roads, of a metaphorical road trip to self-discovery, blended into something that may seem somehow familiar, but on further examination, is its own beast.

The tracklisting is :

1. Half-Life

2. Barracuda

3. Sun over Sierra Madre

4. Show Myself Out

5. Cruise Control

6. The Road Warrior

Negative earth will be available on all digital streaming sites from October 15th

Physical media can be ordered directly from Bandcamp

Sixx AM new single. Album to follow

Sixx:A.M. Release Their New Single ‘The First 21’

by Rockposer Dot Com!

Today, Sixx:A.M. unveiled their new single 'The First 21' from their upcoming compilation album Sixx:A.M. 'HITS' via Better Noise Music. The album is a retrospective celebration of the iconic band’s biggest hits and fan-favorite songs, that will also include five unheard tracks and mixes, marking the band's first official album with new material since 2016. As the new companion track founding member Nikki Sixx’s new memoir of the same name,

'The First 21' looks back nostalgically at the moments where we discovered music, ourselves and our dreams. An official lyric video for the song also premiered today, featuring unseen footage following Frank Feranna’s journey to becoming Nikki Sixx. The video was directed by artist Lucy Dyson, who has handled creative visuals for Paul McCartney, Beyonce, Paul Smith and many more.Stream it Here. The compilation project’s full tracklisting is below and is available for pre-order and pre-save now across platforms Here.

Inspired by the highly-anticipated release of iconic music legend Nikki Sixx’s new memoir The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx (Hachette Books; 10/19/21; $30; ISBN: 9780306923708), Sixx:A.M. members James MichaelDj Ashba, and Sixx are releasing 'HITS' as a companion piece to the upcoming book. With a throwback to the band’s more formative years, 'The First 21' captures the captivating content of the memoir for fans. After earning 21 years of sobriety, founding member of Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. Nikki Sixx is still incredibly passionate about his craft and transparent about his life in rock and roll. Now a three-time New York Times best-selling author, Sixx tells the inspirational story of how Frank Feranna became Nikki Sixx in his first 21 years of life. Combining the work of a writer and a musician to offer multi-layered pieces of art, Sixx:A.M. previously released 'The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack', which acted as a companion piece to Sixx’s best-selling memoir 'The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star', introducing the concept of a book soundtrack into popular culture in 2007. Both the book and the album became instant successes upon release, with the book landing on the New York Times-best seller list in its first week, selling out in bookstores around the U.S. At the same time, the album spawned the #1 single 'Life Is Beautiful', while simultaneously receiving critical acclaim and eventually achieving Gold certification in the U.S. IGN praised its effectiveness as a concept album, writing, “[It’s] not really an album but rather a musical book. It is almost impossible to recommend any specific songs over others." Expanding this artistic signature move, The First 21 will now get its own soundtrack with the forthcoming 'HITS' album.

Celebrating their catalogue on Spotify, the band revealed a new 'Sixx:A.M. 101 Playlist'. The playlist offers new and old fans a comprehensive collection of the band’s acclaimed catalogue. Stream it Here.

Nikki Sixx also curated a companion playlist to his book called 'Nikki Sixx’s First 21 Playlist' which features the soundtrack to his formative yearsand is available for streaming Here.

New Album Out Now! "Score of Nightmares" via Pride & Joy Music

Operus Line Up (L-R)
Dean Paul Arnold (Guitar), Wojtek Sokolowski (Bass, Backing Vocals), David Michael Moote (Lead Vocals),
Oscar Rangel (Guitar, Backing Vocals, Growls), Robin Howe (Cello, Backing Vocals), JJ Tartaglia (Drums)

Canadian epic symphonic metal band, Operus has a new music video for their single "Lost" off their latest album "Score of Nightmares" released through German label Pride & Joy Music during June 2020.

The vision behind the new video is that of a journey through an inner self-created metaphoric world of being lost along with the feeling of self-doubt and the inevitable anxiety of running out of time.
